INDIANAPOLIS (August 27, 2019) – The near south side of downtown Indianapolis will soon be getting a new hotel. The EVEN Hotel by IHG will be built across the street from Shapiro’s Delicatessen, on land owned by Shapiro’s.
EVEN Hotels, a new product from IHG, caters to travelers’ holistic wellness needs by offering a full-sized gym, glass enclosed media and meeting room, piano, and many other wellness amenities that serve all health lifestyles. The 118 room, six story hotel planned for Indianapolis will have an open-air bar., upgraded tile bathrooms, and extra-large televisions. The EVEN will also have an "unplugged" area with modern board games and where food and drinks will be served.
Although the EVEN is a select service hotel, Shapiro's will be working with food concepts that will be sure to delight out-of-towners and Locals alike; EVEN Indy will serve up breakfast and dinner, which will be available late, in case business meetings run long or guests are hungry after a day spent taking in the city sights.
The hotel is being built on land that has been in the Shapiro family for decades, and Brian Shapiro will be a limited partner. Located on the corner of Meridian and Sycamore Street. Next to the historic building housing JP Parker Flowers, across from the iconic Shapiro's restaurant, the land is a part of an Opportunity Zone established by Governor Holcomb.
The EVEN is set to open in the fall of 2020. The Dora Hospitality Group will be involved with ownership, development, and will serve as management company for the completed hotel. Dora Hospitality has decades of hotelier experience, is currently involved in multiple hotel development projects in and around Indianapolis and is excited to be furthering economic growth on the near Southside.
Tim Ochs at Ice Miller will be representing the Even Hotel partnership. Ochs can be reached at 317-236-5952.
