Lt. Governor Honors Hendricks County Hotelier with Hoosier Hospitality Award

DANVILLE, IN (August 20, 2018) – The Guest Services Manager at the Staybridge Suites who has become known for his customer service, do-anything attitude and willingness to go above and beyond received statewide recognition for his service to Indiana tourism last week.

David Torres was one of 16 recipients of the 2018 Lieutenant Governor’s Hoosier Hospitality Awards during a morning ceremony on Aug. 17 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch presented Torres with the award.

Thanks in part to Torres, the Staybridge Suites in Plainfield has a five-star rating on Trip Advisor by more than 400 reviewers, many of whom mention him by name. One reviewer called his customer service “top flight” while another said he helped their family through a difficult personal situation that came up during their visit.

Torres has also become known at the hotel for doing whatever is needed without complaint and with a smile on his face whether it is getting up at 4 a.m. to cover the breakfast buffet, driving the airport shuttle service or even cleaning rooms.

Nominations for Hoosier Hospitality Awards are submitted by community members and destination patrons. Nominations are reviewed, and winners are selected by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development.
